Hitachi ZC50T – 4 t Tandem Double Drum Vibratory Roller

The Hitachi ZC50T is a 4-ton class tandem vibratory roller designed for asphalt and base compaction on roads, car parks, driveways and general civil projects. With steel drums front and rear and a 1,300 mm compaction width, it delivers uniform, high-quality surface finish while remaining compact enough to work efficiently in tight urban job sites.

Powered by a fuel-efficient Kubota D1703 3-cylinder diesel engine producing about 22.1 kW @ 2,200 rpm, the ZC50T offers smooth hydrostatic drive and reliable climbing performance up to around 25°, making it suitable for slope work and approaches. The vibratory system operates at 55 Hz (≈3,300 vpm) with a centrifugal force of 24.5 kN, giving strong compaction energy for its size and helping contractors reach target density with fewer passes.

The compact body—about 3.1 m long and 1.4 m wide—plus a short 4.3 m turning radius and excellent all-round visibility make the ZC50T easy to manoeuvre around obstacles, kerbs and manholes. A large 300 L water tank feeds the drum sprinkler system for consistent drum wetting during asphalt work, while a 48 L fuel tank supports long operating shifts on site.
